Here at Sojourn
On Sunday mornings, I drive our van full of stuff and help load it in the school. From there, it's mixed bag of sometimes helping with sound & media, or playing on the worship band, or helping get the chairs and decor setup. Most Sundays I deliver a sermon or facilitate a discussion. Beyond that, I partner with my wife (Kate) and the rest of this beautiful team to develop and chase the vision of what this church can be and do.
When I'm able to detach from church-life, I like to read and write (I blog at www.colbymartinonline.com, and my new book is coming out at www.unclobber.com). I love to cook alongside Kate, watch movies, and figure out new ways to connect with our four sons.
Why I Love This Church
For years I have dreamt of planting a church, but it wasn't until meeting the people of Sojourn that I realized just how desperately I wanted to plant this church. I am convinced this world needs more love, grace, mercy, hope and peace. And the Way of Jesus compels me like no other. To create a faith community that is progressive in its thinking and also firmly rooted in a faith and love of Jesus? Sublime.
