On Sunday March 1st, Pastor Colby talked about the way in which our world is Broken as it relates to the issue of Hunger.
1 in 8 people, worldwide, go to bed every night not having eaten enough food for their body to function.
Here in San Diego county 470,000 people live with Food Insecurity, meaning they don't know where their next meal will come from.
In an effort to raise awareness, and then transform that awareness in to action, we have created The Five Dollar Challenge.
The idea is simple:
- Pick three days during the week of Monday, March 9th - Saturday March 14t
- During those days eat on $5 or less for the entire day.
- Donate the money you didn't spend on food.
The Five Dollar Challenge will help some of us to experience a bit of what it's like to go hungry, to experience food insecurity.
Then, we'll move that in to action by taking the amount of money we WOULD have spent during those three days, and we will donate that money to the San Diego Food Bank's Virtual Food Drive to allow them to buy food for the more than 370,000 people they feed every month.
Fill out the Form above to join the Challenge.Click "Yes" on the email that will be auto-sent to you, to confirm adding you to our list.
Then join the Event Page on Facebook to follow along and detail your journey.
Thank you for taking part in the Five Dollar Challenge!
